looking for some wrestling to watch. suggestions?

Wrestling recommendation: Judging from your posts, you need some Joshi Puroresu in your life. Get familiar with Ayako Hamada, Manami Toyota, Akira Hokuto, Meiko Satomura, Aja Kong, and Kana. Here’s a good start:

LOOK WHO I MET: Kanpai!

look-who-i-met:

This is me in Tokyo with Joshi Puroresu superstar Kana at a SMASH after party last December. I’ve met Kana several times over the years and she is, by far, one of the nicest wrestlers out there. That’s a bit at odds with her image is that of a arrogant, sadistic, violent, headkicking, psychopath, but that’s the beauty of pro wres.

I’ve met her several times over the years, but on this particular night SMASH had a sit-down, multi-course (and multi-drink) dinner with all its fans and stars after a show at Korakuen Hall.  Being in Japan, the meal was a bit different than what I’m used to back home, but even my Japanese friends were hesitant to dive into the main course, boiled octopus.

No one really touched it until Kana made her way to the table. She proceeded to devour that purple Lovecraftian monstrosity, in between downing our drinks and posing for photos.
